Well, having always done everything on my Audi's, I feel the end of the
road is near. I have taken the 200TAQ fully loaded (to the gills) with
dorm contents twice....through the Penn hills at Twice the speed limit
too (thanks in part in "waste" toluene" leftover in the chemical
stockpiles there.)
Weeks ends have just been one big Audi repair feast for as long as I can
remember. Circumstances, owners/mangers/attitudes changing at the
various garages I've been able to play with my toys may change all too
soon.

As some of you may know (Ed in Camb.) I own many garages, but nothing a
lift can be easily assembled in, water seepage issues from the
Archdiocese next door is another concern. Might just be cheaper to drive
a tax deduction mobile than keep the fleet on the road until they can pry
it from my cold dead grease impregnated hands.

As a background (for those who are bored and might want to read this),
these garages were the staging areas of many a blue-slip win on Western
Avenue drag nights, as an L88 in the corner will attest. My misspent
youth was spent with the greats of speed in these humid dark
surroundings, and I thank God/Allah/Buddha/ the man in the moon everyday
for it. Taking my cue from the title of this e-mail, I am indeed in a
dilemma. I spend at least 6 months a year out of the country, and this
damned curse of biology says that the wife and kiddies require food and
shelter before I require redline and smoking rubber. I've YET to find a
decent person who comes even CLOSE to understanding my rare fleet. Man,
I wish (Ala "Kind of the Hill" that I would get a PP settlement at
Costco) to get all my projects back on-line.

Sorry for the rambling...reality has determined that there is noV12 SL
staring up at me from the driveway....YET..I've got my old bike almost up
to muster, organ donor sticker featured proud and center on my drivers
license, and may do a Euro Delivery of a BMW to spend the first two week
breaking her in on the autobahn.

All that being said, I still love my V8Q, but may have to accept "the
new reality" sooner or later. The I'll have to confront my other
demons, the overseas ones...like my 1940 Ford Convertible Deluxe, 1933
Ford Cabriolet, the 73 Mercyless Benz 450 SLC, and a French car or two
that I can barely fit my left leg into, let alone the rest of the
torso......not me mention "coffin Joe".

I must be getting old, I had no excuse but to nod my head up and down
when my father said that I suffered from some sort of sickness we were
riding along in "Coffin Joe."
http://groups.msn.com/Braza/photoalbum1.msnw , he didn't mind riding in
the Karman Ghia convertible I had stateside, as it cost me nothing...but
I'd be visiting him in ICU if he know what I had buried in "Coffin Joe."

Ahhh, you only live once I guess, but it's it's the staying alive part
until you die that requires some "splaining" sometimes.
