I'd already have won the bet tony. The reason the Ranger is better, is that
the wheel travel is exponential in comparison to the 4kq or the type 44. I
found this last year when I took my 94 landcruiser (TRD supercharged) to
Steamboat last year. Although it's totally stock twin ibeam suspension, the
wheel travel on this machine is something like 11inches from center. As such,
the blizzacks never lost contact with the road, which meant all that
supercharged power was making traction. I have over an hour of video of this machine
chasing down a 430ATWHP S car and the LT1Q, both driven by senior members of
our Gruppe-q team. The LC made the chase look boring.

Wheel travel rules in offroad traction.

The 4000 did not have locked diffs in these "trials".

But, I'd agree, I don't think diffs are coming into play here. The Ranger is
in 2WD when doing this.

It's what I do nearly every day coming home form work, so I just come
around the paved corner as fast as I can, floor it, and about 50 feet up I
hit the dirt road (straight off the pavement). Keep it floored till I have
to hit the brakes. That simple ;-)
Anyone want to try it?
