My folks used to own the Riverside Inn in Leland, and their current house is
on the Leland river. I assure you, over the last 10 years, our black 91 and
our two pearl 91's spent plenty of time in Leelanau county. About the only
time I really enjoyed the 17x8.5 255/40's were on my forays from Chicago and
up (over by d') there. Mike Fisher had his black v8 5spd there for quite a
while, and some of the S car guys are up there as well. I paraded something
like 4 5ktqs, 2 5ktqavants, 3 v8's, and 4 urq's to the county in the last 15
years. To date, I have not been caught by Leelanau's finest, but certainly
came darn close more times than I can count.

I was just reading your thread and noticed that you mentioned driving
back
from Traverse City, MI. I currently live in Minnesota, but moved
here from
Lansing, MI. about 5 years ago. My family still has a house in
Omena, MI.
I've only seen one other V8 while I've been back over there
visiting. Sorry
to hear about your little visitor. Hard lesson to learn.
