Jason-  this might be done and done, as far as thoughts go, but since I'm not familiar with your driving style, I'll lob this out there -- have you tried driving the snot out of the car for repeated 20 mile highway blasts??  Curiously, I've solved more problems than created by doing this. I'm talking repeated blasts to 120 plus for 5 or miles at a time, bumping off the (audi engineered, Helmut Von Streudelnoggin approved) rev limiter and the occasional hard throttle lift even thrown in the mix.

As for the standard disclaimer in case mine ever goes up for sale (can't bear to imagine that circumstance), I don't make a habit of it, but damned if that doesn't bring 'im right back.  So far that little bit of therapy has done more for my rich condition than any number of other things.  Flat out cured my surging back when it was a 3.6 motor, too.  

And it beats R&R'ing distributors.

I have just about gotten sick of this thing.  My compression is normal
now, o2 code is gone - MPG still sucks - I have tested every sensor,
system, and changed alot of parts - the car runs great so I am just going
to drive it like that for awhile - It will really bug me but I don't know
what else to do.  Thanks for all the help.
