[V8] Responses so far (keep or sell)

I have been in the same dilemma a couple of times with my V8 - but I get
over it pretty quick and the car always stays.  At this point, I think I
will probably have it forever and other cars will come in and out of the
stable during the V8's tenure.  My V8 has a bit of sentimental value to me -
I have personally owned it for about 9 years and prior to that it was in the
family.  In fact, I drove it quite often in it's younger years.  When I came
home from college for spring break in 1990, I took my high school lust -
err,um - girl friend on a date with the V8 when it had 250 miles on it.  Oh
to be 22 again in a $50K car with a beautiful woman in the passenger seat,
crusin' at a buck without a care in the world!

- Now, back to the subject:

I would say keep it.  You have most of the bugs out of it, I am assuming
that it still looks good, you have a recent timing belt job, and the car is
really not that expensive to keep on the road.  Assuming you do most of the
maintenance yourself, that isn't too bad either.  Like with me, you will
never get what it is worth to you, and you will never be able to replace it
if it if it goes.

Well it appears the group's consensus is that I am keeping my V8Q.

Ron has no room for it, and it doesn't look like I am going to see
enough money to even come close to replacing it with something similar
or even interesting (and there doesn't seem to be anything similar
anyway). I might as well keep it - I do have the room for it, plates and
insurance are not that expensive for me, and yes, the Accord is SOOOOOO
boring . . .

The strongest comment came from Roger - If I didn't know better, I'd
think I had been flamed. What I think is really going on is that he is
deeply feeling the pain of being V8-less, and warning me and everyone
else that the withdrawal symptoms are really harsh.


I guess I need to go drive it around some and let it remind me of just
how good a car it is.

We need to find Roger a car, too.
