Tony to answer some of your questions:

Anyhow, I'm definately going. Do I need to register with someone to attend,
or just to display the car? It's really not that pretty anyhow:(

You can register directly through the Carlisle Events website at
www.carsatcarlisle.com
When you register you would let them know that you are coming with the Audi
car club and they will get you in with the rest of the group. You can then
contact Morgan Evans via e-mail and just let her know that you're planning
on attending. She can be reached at
morganevans at excite.com

She is the great organizer for the Audi folks. She is active on the
Audiworld 4000/GT Coupe forum, so you can check there for updated
information.

The cost to have your car on the showfield for the weekend is $15.00, which
will cover two people in the same car. This is really the most cost
effective way of doing it, to park outside the show field and walking in
will cost you $8.00 or so just to come throught the gate (and that's for
one person) So, registering the car is really the best way to go. You can
then register for a campsite or just sleep in your car. They have really
nice bathrooms/showers/etc... all of which are super clean. I think it's
$15.00 if you do decide to camp. Remember that all these prices will go up
19 days before the event.

Also, can I get details as to the camping plans. I'll sleep in my car, not
even clost to the first time. Just wondering about the details of that. As
pertaining to where to park, etc.

Most folks that camp unload there camping gear, set up and then drive their
cars back over the show field. It's maybe a 300 yard walk from where the
showfield is over to the camping area.

I've never been to any event like this before, so I'm really looking
forward. However, I'm also not at all farmiliar with what to expect. So, I
guess any info/pointers would be greatly appreciated. I'm only going to be
there because another trip coincided with this event. I'm really looking
forward to meeting some listers as well. I've only met four till now, and
greatly enjoyed each and every one. They are, in chronological order: Zay
Compazano, Ingo Rautenberg, John DeVecka(sp?), Scott Dewitt. Soon I'll be
meeting Scott Simons as well. I'm really looking forward to adding more
names to the list.

This is a great event, very low key, and a great group of people. Be sure
to bring a camera, an array of clothes, because the weather can be kind of
iffy here in central PA at that time of year. Morgan should be contacting
each person that registers and then watch the Audiworld 4000 list for
updates on what is needed for the hospitality tent.
Be sure to bring camp chairs, normal camping gear if that's the route you
go. There is a nice vendor section, not too many parts for V8's but still
a nice array of stuff to browse through.

Feel free to contact me if you have any other questions. I live about an
hour from Carlisle, so I have been going for quite a few years. I have
done the vendor thing in years past, but have gone the showfield route the
last two years, always a great time.
Hopefully I will be able to bring the V8 over this year, thanks to Ron's
generous offer to help with the rack replacement.

Cheers,

Ted
