[V8] PT vs. ABH intake

Why get rid of EGT(R)?

Maybe back in 1973 it was a problem, but
now-a-days it helps more than hurts.
As I understand it, (EGR) cools
the combustion process with an inert gas. It basically does the same thing
as something like water injection. If you have a computer controlled
motor, especially a turbo with lots of boost, the EGR can be used to
dramatically boost your power SAFELY without fear of detonation. As
someone found here recently, his motor ran better with functional cats
instead of hollowed out ones. These motors are designed for all this
stuff, and just yanking it off can really cause more problems than good -
particularly if the ECU is not re-programmed to account for it. I know in
the case of the 3.6L, the EGR function is basically built into the cam
profile and relies on a certain amount of exhaust back pressure to work
right. If you change the exhaust too much from stock, you might end up
forcing the ECU to back off timing to prevent detonation - and there by
losing any gain you hoped to get from a more open exhaust.

And
there is the not so small side benefit that you are emitting fewer harmful
pollutants.
