Yes, set it to the 4-cyl spot. Each coil fires 4 times per engine
revolution.

Subject: [V8] V8 tune specs
Dumb question dujour. Just replaced a Tach that dropping out more than in
the last few months. I'm trying to get an exact RPM reading for the V to
make sure the new tach is in synch. Usually go to the coil with the DMM.
(I lent out my timing light)With the 'twin' ignitions do I have to take a
"4" cyl reading? On "8" it is reading way low, but on the "4" setting it
seems right in spec.(I never had to do this on this type of Audi coil, I
assume one of the 2 screw leads under the top cover is OK for this
purpose?)thxMike
