[V8] Spring loaded key

I sort of took the key swap literally, however there was a good post about installing your old key into a switchblade keyfob.
I also did a bit of digging, and it would be possible to "Upgrade" to the newer center cut keys using keys and lock parts from a late C4, or early B5 A4 yes it's alot of work, but it should be mostly bolt on stuff. 
What years did the A6 get the center but keys? I drove a 97 A6 for while and as I recall it had the newer style keys.
