[V8] Bad upper strut bearings

Thanks for the feedback.
I'm asking because I have this stiff steering problem.
(I also have had the clunk you describe as well)
I just replaced all the 'O' rings in the P/S pump, the track rod ends and the lower control arms. Now, the steering feel is better but I still have a stiffness problem. It's most noticeable when slowing right down and turning sharp right, say into a parking space. I presume at this point the engine is at low idle, the brake pedal is down and maximum steering assist is needed. I then need too much effort on the wheel and there's an uneven turn where it feels like I'm overcoming obstructions at a couple of points.
The rest of the time the steering feels good, so much so, that I thought I had fixed the problem when I first tested the car after my recent work.
