[V8] I can kind of see it

Trying to figure out the easiest way to get to the PCM. I need to
verify continuity between the IAT and the PCM and I can sort of see it
up through the footwell ducting.

Any BTDTs?

Full story: Trying to isolate a miss. Leading theory is that the plugs
are loading up. Also running pretty sloppy gas mileage. Codes pulled
point to IAT and O2S. Car runs great but if I sit at a long stop light
it'll miss every few seconds. If it's a brief pause at a stop sign, no
troubles. Only when idling for a time. Replacing the FPR as preventive
measure within two weeks.

The wires at the IAT had been monkey'd before (how do you spell that in
past tense?) so I removed the crappy soldering and crimped and heat
shrinked the wires again. IAT had resistance reading of about 425 on a
hot engine, after it cooled down for about half an hour it was reading
about 460 or so, so I believe it's still functional.

Regarding the O2 sensor, I'll probably go the route of the 89 Taurus.
I'm thinking of hitting the junk yard up here to find an 89 Taurus and
steal about 2 ft of the vehicle's end wiring harness. This way I only
have to make one connection for all future O2 sensors. I can just plug
in the replacement sensors. I've heard it's not good to solder O2
wires... prevents proper breathing? The vehicle specific Taurus O2
sensor runs $40, the universal 4 wire runs $60. I'd much rather have
the Bosch universal connector that comes with it, but that piece of
plastic isn't worth the extra dollars.

Here's looking forward to that T-Belt job in mid-March. Where can I
rent some loaner tools?

If it has wheels or heels, I can't make it happy,
Scott Simmons
