Lets say in light of my recent post - I bought a
motor. Where would I
get
it, how much, how many miles, how easy to switch to a
4.2 - is it a
drop
in? Ron, want to chime in? I may post over on
motorgeek too.

          Thanks, Jason

Jason, as for a 3.6 to 4.2 swap it'as as simple as
swapping out the 3.6 & putting the 4.2 in. & as Allan
mentioned block up the EGR system, & change the pass
side manifold.
Use the 3.6 wiring harness & ECU.
I'll be doing the swap over the weekend for George &
will document the swap & post it to the knowledgebase.

As far as finding a 4.2..I may have another on the
horizon. & as far as a 3.6..I may sell the one from my
5spd..but not sure.

But eather way you go be prepaired to spend a few
$$$.
Say you find another 3.6 motor for cheap...$300'ish,
your going to have to do some work to the
motor..t-belt, at least, would you need to replace the
motor mounts as well? what about the trans mounts?
then there are coolant lines, breather hoses, caps,
rotors, spark plugs, VC gaskets, etc...
But too be honest I'm flying blink on your thread
here..I haven't really payed attentiont to it..sorry!
I have been busy getting George all set for this
weekend.....but
I will try to find some time to re-read through your
posts. Or shoot me a mail & explain in a nutshell
whats up..or give me a call...413.547.6099
I'll be round.

 Ron
