[V8] Speedo gremlins

I thought I dispatched most of my gauge gremlins with my pin solder job
last year, but the speedo still dies occasionally, so back in I will go.
Data point for the wiring hounds, with engine running and tach working,
opening either front door will kill the tach,(until such time as it deems
me worthy to return, closing doors does nothing)  any pointed ideas, BTDTs?
