Oh, and while I think about it.  The intermittent speedo problem is probably
a ground in the instrument cluster.  The Black Mariah did this when I first
got her, along with bouncing speedo syndrome.  We frigged around with the
cluster and the dead part went away, and occasionally the bouncing speedo
syndrome will reappear.  The odometer is not affected  now, so I am leaving
well enough alone.

This on and off speedo issue reminded me of my college years.  You see, I
used to swim for exercise a lot although not in competition.  Along the way,
I met a girl who was on the swim team and was a very serious swimmer.  We
got along real well, and in the summer we used to go and swim in the lake
nearby.  There was a really nice little knoll on the edge of a field about
twenty feet from the edge of the lake, and one day after swimming and
generally horsing around in the pool, we got involved in some unusual
swimming technical training up on the knoll.  As I recall, her Speedo was
rather intermittent that day too...........
