[V8] O2 Sensor Readings

In my limited experiance, I have found that a good sensor should
fluctuate between about .1 and .8 v as read on a volt meter. On a cold
sensor it will do this slowly (like 1 second between), and on a hot sensor
it will do it much faster (like .2 second between). Older sensors will
respond much slower even when hot then a new sensor, and you must have an
analog meter, or a fast digital with a sweep to see this properly - you
can also use an o-scope but most of us don't have this. Bottom line is -
from what you have said - put a new sensor in, it seems slow to react and
it doesn't hurt to put one in anyway. Re-check to see response after
install - remember the sensor must be at least 600 deg F to work, so let
the car run for awhile before you test it. Test to see what it looks
like, if it does good, if it doesn't make sure and find the problem. If
you drive the car with a rich condition you risk trashing the new o2
sensor.

       Good luck,
             Jason
