[V8] [unclassified] Re: 1992 Audi V8 4.2 running lean

procedure for checking is,
Disconnect the harness at the MAF.
Connect a LED tester to terminal 1 of harness
connector & a positive cable connection....LED tester
should light up. If it doesn't,
locate & repair open circuit.
 Connect LED tester between terminal 5 of harness
connector & ground.
Switch ignition on....LED tester must light up.
If not connect LED tester between terminal 5 of sensor
harness connector & ground.
Switch ign on & crank eng for a few seconds.
LED tester must light up when ign is switched on &
while cranking.
If LED tester goes out during cranking do this....
 Verify that fuse 23 in good.
check continuity between terminul 5 of sensor harness
connector & fuse 23.
 Check continuity between fuse 23 & terminal 59 of
fuel pump relay socket.
All so says to check the control signal to the relay.

 But if you have a spair working MAF or fuel pump
relay I'd say give them a shot.
