Good morning List,

It seems too good to be true but the timing belt on the V8 will be done
this weekend. The V8 has been out of commission for over 4 months so I
am a bit concerned about how these cars react to long spouts of
inactivity so any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated.

In case you are wondering, I will not be doing the work myself. As some
of you on this list know, I am mechanically challenged. It is not a
lack of willingness. Simply, you put a wrench in my hand and bad things
start to happen...right Tony?

Quick question: The water pump that was sent to me is part
#077.121.004G-077.121.004F. The box says it is for a 95 and up
A8\Avant\Quattro 3.7 95 and up or S8 Quattro 4.2 97 and Up. The parts
store swears this is the water pump for the 3.6 90 V8. Can someone
please confirm or deny this? I am worried because if this is not the
right part and my mechanic does not get this done this weekend the car
will sit for another month and I just cannot afford that. Anyone's help
on this is appreciated.

Also, I have lost a lot of my precious V8 e-mails due to changing roles
within the company. I am looking for Robert Ferguson (I think that is
his first name) so if you read this please e-mail me ASAP since I have
no way of contacting you or if anyone has his contact information please
forward it to me.

I am in need of half axles but was told it is easier to just replace the
CV joints. Mine are clicking like crazy and it would seem that it would
be better to replace the half axles? Opinions please.

Finally, what are the ballpark prices I should be paying for motor and
transmission mounts?

Thanks all,

Zay Campozano
