[V8] seats and stuff (was: Infamous V8 No Start)

As far as I know, after 1991, there was no sport seat option. I have
seen one 4.2 V8q for sale that had sports seats unlike any other. It
was pearl/gray in central CA somewhere and it was like the early
sports seats, i.e. flat panels, but it had the slide-out under thigh
piece. Interesting.
I found that the seats in my 93 were uncomfortable to me, even
compared to the non-sport seats in the 90. I found that the backrest
is shorter than before and has more of a curve to it. It was like an
85 Accord where you don't sit In the seat, but On it. And of course,
they completely ruined the headrest. I know it's only supposed to be
a head "restraint" but I want have gotten very accustomed to using it
on long trips, only to steady my head against, not rest on it, as in
night-night.
Anyway, I just last night mounted a urS4 sport seat in my 93 and am in
heaven. When I hit the stored memories, it was positioned much higher
than the stock seat had been. I wasn't going to share about this
because I didn't want to drive up the demand for these seats (I want
another set for another car) but I can't in all fairness withhold this
info. It's not exactly a secret, but the urS seats are a direct
bolt-in/plug-in for the 4.2 V8's.
I found there's a plastic block that limits rearward adjustment for
some reason that causes the front mounting bolts to remain
inaccessible. Once you clip the zip tie and remove the blocks, the
seat will go back far enough to get at the bolts.
In regard to head room, the location of the guts under the seat is
different on the urS seat than the Connelly seat. I thought it might
be reorganized due to the pull out thigh support. But it may be to
allow lower adjustment, possibly due to the somewhat less tall S-car
chassis? Just a thought.
