[V8] Overheating, loss of electric fan 92 V8 4.2

Ah, one other this you may want to look at:

Heater core may be failing. After car has cooled off, unscrew
expansion tank cap. Then remove overflow hose at expansion tank
nipple and check for blockage. If you have bits and pieces of
plastic, remove them and pray that your heater core hasn't totally
broken down. Yeah, BTDT. Replaced (unecessarily) the viscous fan
(which was fine, but not working because that area of the radiator
was internally blocked), radiator, expansion tank and heater core on
one V8. Oh, what joy! Not! I would definitely invest in an infrared
thermometer to check efficiency/blockage of radiator. And if you do
need to replace, definitely OEM. I did a fair amount of cutting /
trimming of the slightly cheaper replacement radiator and wouldn't
want to spend all that extra time and aggravation again.
