That is a pretty expensive tool that you will probably only use once.
To remove the axle, I think you also have remove the tie rod to
swing the strut out far enough.
At this point, you are three nuts
away from removing the whole strut - why not just do that and have a
machine shop press in the bearings? That is what I did and as I recall, it
was pretty cheap. Bearings, labor, and an alignment were all under $300 -
and I replaced the upper bearing too.
