Even with the higher price for a new one (they used to be around $250
new), just the time saved and the hassle of going to a machine shop etc.
are enough of an offset for me. I've done about 7 Audi wheel bearings
with the tool, I've also found it very useful for installing sub frame
bushings, 2 stroke bearings and other projects. The Audi Q's have 4
press in bearings, it's just a matter of time before you're there again.
I have heard of people who have rented the tool from equipment/tool
rental places. My local equipment rental place said if there were any
kind of demand for the tool they'd stock it for rental. I think the
problem is that most DIY's don't even know it exists.

We come into the world naked, screaming and covered in blood. Why should
the fun end there?
