I'll second that. I'm doing a 1.8T Jetta right now, and I 'll have to say I 
don't like it either.

I prefer springs in the disc, personally. Having said that, if the surface 
is alright, you can certainly reuse it. It just depends on the surface 
quality. you may also want to scuff it up a bit, before reinstall.
