A ray of hope for all those that are depressed by the stories of very low
sales prices: I easily sold my V8 today and I barely had to advertise it.
This was a 9/10ths car, 97k, but needing a second timing belt just ‘cause of
the passage of time since the last belt. It sold for $3500 with the guy
having taken the car to our local Audi specialist for a $1500 TB quote, so
he really paid $5000 for the car. The details: ’90 with 97k, Cayenne/Black
sport seat, stock BBS, 100% working. The car has always been a west-coast
car, so there was 0.00% rust or corrosion top or bottom. The paint had some
scratches and nicks but was very presentable. So, there is a market for a
nice, 100% functional car; don’t let the reports of the abandoned, lot
lizard, or ½ screwed-up cars foul your impressions of the market. Now I can
“concentrate” on my ’95 S6 Avant, four Corvairs, ’65 Corvette, and ’68
Camaro
