Well this is one of those stories to teach a lesson...

...back on april 27th i got a speeding ticket in akron. within two days i was in at the cashier paying my ticket at the courthouse, the cashier asked to see my proof of insurance. I was confused, she said the officer did not mark down weather i had showed proof or not. I told her i did, and she marked down i had not...later that day i put my audi 4kq on my insurance and printed my new id card online on may 1st.

that next week i got a letter in the mail asking for proof of financial responsibility (insurance). i was like wtf, printed off a new copy of my insurance and sent it in. I went on vacation 2 fridays ago. When i got back last sunday i found anther letter from the bmv stating the insurance i had provided did not prove i had insurance when i was pulled over and my license and plates were suspended until i proved otherwise. i had 15 days.

i found out when i put my 2nd car on my insurance, it showed the next business day on my insurance card as the policy start date. it said may 1st! this past Wednesday i mailed my declarations page to the bmv, i was just waiting on my letter saying all was well...it was not.

Today on my way back from snow rd off 71 i had a brunswick cop follow me until right before 303 and 71. flips his lights on, i freaked out cause i was doing the speed limit, 65. He ran my plates and pulled my over to see who was driving a vehicle with suspended plates. it was me, the suspended licensed driver...

V8QUAT is now in the hands of the Brunswick police, i have a mandatory court hearing on monday in medina. took the plates, and forgot to take my license. The officer was kind enough to drop me off at a gas station for my buddy to pick me up. Otherwise i would have to have someone post bond to get me out of jail. I have my insurance policy history, both declarations and an insurance card. I also will be bringing the orange copy of my speeding ticket showing the original ticket was not marked at all that had or had not shown insurance. I will also by monday have a letter from my insurance company stating i have had insurance all the way from the year before.

right now i am racing against the clock on when the bmv gets my papers in Columbus entered, and how nice the judge is going to be.

Lesson of the day is never forget proof of insurance when you pay your tickets no matter what. oh ya dont speed!

Andy
