[V8] RTV and Loctite

See that? Two Daves, two different answers. I'm with him re: loctite on the crank bolt. I stay with my previous opinion and say a nice film of RTV on the water pump would do more good than bad. Just don't do a Service Station Special and load it on there like it's the last peanut butter sandwich you're ever gonna have, and follow up by leaving all the excess that gets squished out there for all the judges at the local concourse to disparage.

I am pretty sure the manual calls for blue locktite on the crank
bolt. I don't see any reason not to use it. If the factory specs it,
they probably have a reason.
And I did not put any RTV on my water pump gasket - I have not had
any leaks but again probably no reason not to use it.
