[V8] The waiting is over, it has arrived

Wow, I had given up for the day. I hadn't heard from anyone so I figured
the "estimated" delivery on today would slip until tomorrow. So I was off
playing darts as I do on Monday evenings and about 8:30 my cell phone
rang. By 10p I was home with my "new" black/black 93 V8 parked in the
driveway.

I have no records or information about its modifications, not even an
owner's manual, but there is definitely a suspension of some sort and a
different exhaust. Not loud at all, but quite refined and throaty.

I've noticed a couple of little things that need attention... the driver's
seat edge rear down adjustment is inop. The driver's side rear door light
is out. The bulb that illuminates the temp gauge way on the left of the
IC is inop.

It took me a try or two to figure out the hood release is articulated. I
wasn't aware they deleted the rear window shade and the glove box is tiny.
I have only one key, but it seems to work in all ways, though I'm not sure
what all those ways are. The outside door handles are articulated
differently from any other I've had. All four work the same, so I assume
that's an update.

This car is c-l-e-a-n. There isn't a speck of anything in the trunk. The
interior is as described, like new or as nearly as I could imagine it
being. It has a 10 disc changer in the trunk and even the cup holder
insert in the console.

I'll be out early tomorrow morning giving it a wash. The transport driver
about talked my ear off, said he'd just been at some proving ground out
west and had driven some new concept Audi that had 700hp, twin turbos,
something or other. He had put it on the top level, behind 2 other
vehicles and with the nice weather, it is barely dirty.

It's pretty peppy, though I only drove it straight home as throwing darts
also involves downing a couple beers and I wanted no nastiness tonight.
I've been told it's chipped and I'm sure once I get more accustomed to it
and get those big wheels/tires off, it'll be even peppier. I only regret
not getting to drive it at sea level, but in due time.

If I sleep I know what I'll be dreaming about.

Ed
