[V8] oil level...oil blow by

As far as the oil capacity. I usually go by this
rule...

...fill the car with 8qts, run motor till hot, turn
off & have a beer!
Go back after & check the stick..you want it rite
above the top of the Orange indicator. Top off as
necessary. That should give you 9qts in the motor.

 On the second,
all the time Andrew? Or just durring startup &
accelerating from stops?
