Y completely agree about cleaning the engine very well before trying to troubleshoot any Oil Leak Problems.
I made a Plug out of a 3" ABS Plumbing fitting to put in the intake manifold when I pressure was the back side of the engine. It works very well.
When I go to the carwash I just bring the 10mm, 13mm wrenches and a #2 Phillips and #2 Flat Screwdriver. Oh and some towels to dry the Dizzies! I remove the air cleaner top and bottom which slides into the intake manifold, insert plug and spray away.
Scott.

It would be best to start with a clean motor when looking for oil
leaks.
just make sure you have your tool box with you if you decide to presure
wash
it away from home (learned this the hard way couple of weeks ago, but
thats
another story) Seriously, degrease the back of the motor and be
prepaired
to dry out the dizzy's. then look for your oil leak. Als try retorquing
your
head bolts. Al
