George,
when I first came to DOHC engines I didn't get the VC design. There is an
'interior' gasket that seals the spark plug galleys against the valve
cover. When new they are like any other rubber gasket, but they gradually
turn extremely hard and amazingly brittle.

Today when I changed the spark plugs, 3 of the plugs had a small
pool of oil at their base. The rubber wire ends had quite a bit of
oil on them. Could this mean that the head gasket is leaking?
George
