[V8] V8 prices: set to rise?

For the most part, the manual trans cars and well-maintained automatics
go up in value every day... Inflation and GDP notwithstanding..
Of course, mine's worth more to me than anyone would likely pay, and
I've put more time/money into it than is probably sane, but who cares
when I ain't selling. But, and here's the crux of my opening statement:
It's interesting to note that I could expect to pay the same amount,
give or take a couple hundo, for a used 5-speed V8 today as I paid for
mine several years back. Even if I'd just put gas in it and commuted
with it for five years, I could sell it today for about the same or
maybe a tad less than what I paid, and essentially have had free transpo
for that five year period. Other such cars would include the 944
turbo, air-cooled 911, and E30 M3. Evolutioned into oblivion by new
models, but will never be selling for $1500. Everone here who's spent
$1500 on a V8 didn't buy it from someone who gave a crap about their
car.
Further, as early 21st century S6 and S8 cars come down in price, by the
time the V8 has aged to the level of collector car and starts showing up
on car afficiandos' or bargain hunters' radar screen, it will be drowned
out by the aging S cars.
