My "new" black/black one has had the wiper delete too.  Shame, they never
seemed to be a bother on any other.  It does look cleaner, but I'm not so
sure I care about that.  I did get a replacement passenger side from a local
junkyard a couple weeks ago.  I'm sure a driver's side unit will manifest
someday...
