[V8] coolant

Speaking of fluids ... My 87 5000 qt CD was leaking power steering fluid
all over the place when I bought it . ( Pentosin ) Instead of using
Pentosin I started using ATF transmission fluid . It stopped leaking the
next week and that was 5 years ago. Not a leak since and no problems in
cold or hot weather.
Amen.

Ps it's okay to use synthetic oil in the engine right ... Why not use
synthetic Hydraulic fluid (ATF) in the PS .

Amen.

There was a very lengthy discussion of this on the Qlist a while back.
Basically if the coolant is safe for aluminum engines, use it. FWIW my
ole 5KS went to the great boneyard in the sky with the EVIL green $2.99
a gallon on sale stuff flowing through it's cooling system for 20+ years
and 250k+ miles.

All three V8Q's, the 90Q and 200TQ have been running the evil green in
the cooling systems since before I bought them. With the green stuff
for
14+ years now, V8Q #1 still has the original radiator, hoses and heater
core, no abnormal aluminum wear & tear, and the sky has not fallen
AFAIK.
