[V8] maintenance/predictions NAC

All these things you want are well known by the insurance cos. That is why
you only get $17 toward an EKG - they know it is a popular procedure.
Similar to the warranty extensions you get for everything from cars to
toasters, they know when these things are likely to need major work, and
the warranties are timed to run out just before that. Any car on the road
will make it to 100K miles with less than $2000 in un-scheduled repairs.
If that were not a slam dunk certainty they could not sell the
coverage.
It is the next 100K that will be expensive, and no one
offers to insure your car for this period.

I don't know exactly
how you could research this, but you can start with family members. If
high blood pressure or cancer or toe nail fungus runs in the family - well
- your risk is higher. This is why the insurance cos ask so many questions
about family.
You can also look at your work history. Did you work
in a coal mine? Any industry has its health issues. I sit behind a
computer all day - and it is killing my back.

I suppose you
could talk to a doctor, but unless he/she/it is a good friend, they may
not be candid. I have friends who are doctors and health insurance
salesmen. They both buy specific coverage on their own. Probably because
they are both basically self-employed.

Sorry I could not help
more - but this is a huge problem with no one good solution.
