[V8] tire size

Size and weight go together so you've changed the effective gear ratio
and added weight that must be accelerated/spun (and stopped!) so not a
great trade off.
I had 215/55-16 snows on my Avant and really feel the difference now
that I'm back to the 235/50-16's.
My approach lately has been to shoot for keeping the same wheel width
and offset when I go larger in diameter. This has all been brought on
by the brakes on the car which are a tough fit for 16-inch wheels. I
will most likely move the entire strut assemblies to my V8 5spd as the
Avant will be the utility vehicle more than a track car and I don't
have any problem with UFO's. I want more fitment options on the Avant
to work on fuel economy. Those stock 15's are damn light and for my
camping trips, they would serve far better than wider/lower 16's.
The 93 V8 on the other hand is gagging for a brake upgrade. It's got
G60's with drilled rotors and steel lines and performance pads of some
sort, but they're just maxed out and still not overly convincing.
