Not sure what you are saying here - but that carbon buildup on the
electrodes inside the cap is perfectly normal. You can carefully
scrape it off if you want, but it will come right back. Black spots
or lines in the insulator material is what is bad.
Ford specifies putting die-electric grease around the electrodes, and
I have been doing that on the V8 caps as well.
It makes them look terrible, but they last for a long time - like
100K miles. I think the grease helps prevent carbon tracks inside the
cap - which is what causes them to fail. They are usually visible as
a black line and cause the affected plug to not fire.
