I was a bit irked that I had a lifter clacking at me all the time. I
really didn't want to pull the cams and find out which one it was. It
was making noise at all times. So I borrowed a mechanic's stethoscope
and..... heads are quiet. Well I can hear the clack. So I put it on
the headers. Quiet. So I set my head on the reservoir while I look
down onto the headers... and it's louder. Survey says..... the solenoid
valve is clicking all the time. Unplugging it and.. yay, noise stops.
This thing isn't supposed to be making such a racket all the time,
right? The CEL isn't coming on (it's plugged in) so I don't have code
4343. Any BTDT's before I just ignore the problem?
Also, will the CEL come on if I have a misfire? Factory manuals do not
list that as a possible code, so I didn't think so.
Thanks,
Scott S.
