[V8] No rear brake light wackyness

Ok I just replaced the White switct at the back of the
brake pedal & still no rear lights. I measured the old
one for depth & put the new/used switch in...then
diddled with it a bit tightening & losening it...still
nothing.
 & I can't get the circuit tester to light up when I
probe the 2 wires. I did see in the wiring connector a
Blue little, what I assume is a diod....can that diod
be bad?

 & the fact of the matter is when pressing the horn on
the steering wheel those relay's still click...WHY???
