RTV should NEVER be used. The only thing applicable there, if you really
want a little extra insurance would be Hylomar or a substitute such as
Permatex product, px#51813, all blue tube, marked "Anaerobic Gasket
Maker." There is actually a shortage of Hylomar on the market now, I
usually get it from the Wurth distributor. You don't want to use
anything that may squeeze it's way into a place it shouldn't be, or worse
yet harden then work it's way around your oil circuit. Hylomar et. al.
doesn't harden, and can keep parts sealed when they move/stretch etc.
under load or heat stress, unlike RTV.

http://www.hylomarm.blogspot.com/ has some info on it. The stuff was
like $50 a tube when it first came to the US, and was only available at
RR dealers.

I live on a one-way street that's also a dead end. I'm not sure how I got
here, or how I'm going to get out.
