[V8] 92 V8 4.2 - automatic transmission going into emergency mode

After the car had not been used for about one week, I fired her up to move her a few metres.
When I put the shift lever in Drive, the car felt very sluggish. Emergency mode. PRND321 all illuminated.
Started the car up once more, and the car was fine. No emergency mode. All gears worked fine.

Fired the car up today (the car has practically been out of use for 10 days) and the transmission goes
into emergency mode. I turn the car off, and restart it. No emergency mode. 

The transmission has done about 62500 miles, had a fluid (semi synthetic Dexron III) and filter change at
about 59 000 miles, and is in perfect working order.

What could be the cause of this?
