Let me clarify a bit....
...a pump from a 86 5ktq will NOT WORK! Sure as Kneal
suggested doing some grinding is fine. But there are
other things to consider. Such as you'll need to pull
the pully since the 5k pumps do not use a serpantein
belt. You'll have to drill & tap a few holes to mount
the front bracket that will allow you to mount the
pump inside the V8 bracket. & the most
importaint....the 5k pumps use crush washers & the V8
pumps use o-rings. You'd all so have to grind some
grooves were the hoses would bolt to,
to keep the pump from not leaking all over the place.
Just drop a few bucks & get one from Bruce @
germanautoconnection. I'm quiet sure he has a good one
you could get.
