[V8] Is this the end?

Now there is absolutely no way...as In NO WAY to justify my even being
curious about this. But for the past week or so I have been entertaining a
fantasy about acquiring 20V Avant #2.
The particular car is located an awful long way from me, but is supposedly
an "extra" car taking up too much space in the garage, yadayadayada.
Supposedly very well kept by the first owner, and supposedly has a huge
handful of repair receipts.
To many miles at 160k, but it is extremely clean looking, and I sense a
certain willingness to "negotiate" a sale. Read: despair?
Anyway, out of curiosity, what does one pay for such a thing in this day of
advanced age for these cars? I am tempted to offer $1500 for the hell of
it, although in my heart of hearts the car is probably worth more than that.
It will cost me a bundle to ship it here anyway, too, and then I KNOW that
it will take a bunch to get it through inspection, and I don't care HOW good
it is....
So, what would be YOUR bid?
Roger

Short form:
I bough TQA #1 from Force 5, knowing it needed work.
TQA #2 became available a week later, in well-maintained
condition (thanks, Peter S.), so I jumped on it. A few months
later it caught fire as I was headed home. I literally had TQA
#1 back in the shop for estimates when TQA #3 became
available. It was also well-maintain and had some nice
mods (chipped, euro headlights, Bilstein? shocks; thanks
to Peter S again). Buying TQA #3 and selling TQA #1 would
cost less than getting TQA #1 running without those mods,
so I became owner of TQA #3.
I promised Peter I'd take better care of this one.
