[V8] Car Czar

the funny (?) part is that anyone on this list would almost certainly
be able to solve detroit's problem - and for only 20 million a year.

I could go on a long tangent here, but you all can probably guess
where it would end up. More fun to talk about my fire breathing
conservative governor. So conservative he has to call himself a
libertarian because republican just won't do.

Some quick background - he is a multi millionaire because he married
a billionaires daughter. He has never worked a real job that was not
handed to him by his father in law. He got into politics because the
FIL (J.R. Simplot for any north westerners out there) bought him the
job many years ago - probably to get him out of the family potato
business. He lives on a huge ranch where he likes to play cowboy
(sound familiar?) about 10 miles from the state capitol building. He
was offered a governors mansion near the capitol but he declined it
- prefering instead to drive the company Suburban home to his ranch.
The mansion btw belonged to his late FIL, and was gifted to the state
as the new governors mansion because it is such a gaudy eyesore that
no one other than an illiterate redneck billionaire (that would be
JR) would want or buy it - so they took a huge tax write off and
stuck the tax payers with it. Did I mention that it is built on a
big hilltop with grass covering the whole thing? There has to be 100
acres of grass that the state now needs to care for by sucking
expensive water out of our dwindling aquifer to water - but that is
another story. Back to the guv and his SUV. He gets $54000 a year
on top of his regular salary to drive a state provided Suburban
burning state provided fuel to the home he lived in before he got the
governor gig, and he is telling me that the root of all evil is
easily traced to gay marriage, unions, and - you guessed it -
wasteful government.
Before the current economic meltdown, his favorite pastime was
pushing to transfer federal land to the state where it is then
transfered to his buddies. (and playing cowboy in monogramed shirts -
yes this is true)

The point of this story is that I believe most of the congress
critters currently sitting are no different than this - and there is
no way they would be smart enough to solve a case of their own hair
on fire let alone fixing detroit or wall street. We (as in all of
us) eventually have to realize that we need to get all the numbskulls
out of office and start electing the smart ones instead of the loud
ones.
