[V8] No longer flubbering Green Horney

Well, we solved the problem of the stuttering, flubbering 100CS Avant
Quattro, aka "The Green Horney".

Several things were found upon diagnosis with the wrench's magic computer
gizzie. First of all, it appears that the egr valve is malfunctioning, and
that will need to be replaced.

But the real problem with the rough running was that the spark plug wires
were simply not working well, and one or more in fact were just plain BAD.
New wires were installed.

Then, in addition, a vacuum line line was BAD. It didn't really LOOK bad,
but when it was pulled off, the fuzzy covering was coming apart in bits and
pieces, and when replaced, BERZRAPP: all driveability problem signs were
absolutely gone.

The "check engine" light still comes on, but when the EGR valve is replaced
that will end, and mostly, the car runs like new now.

And by NEW, I MEAN like new. We have had all of the rubber grommets and
gizzies that hold the suspension in place along with struts and strut
mounts, plus a parcel of other stuff underneath, AND new tires...all since
the start of the year. Now with the engine running smoothly again, the car
feels like new.

Onward into the next 150,000 miles.

Roger

P.S. The a/c compressor is making some noise now, so I expect that a/c may
be the next major item, and maybe as early as this summer, although I would
hope not. Keepin' my fingers crossed at this point.
