I think you are thinking of 2 different tools very different in size and scope.
Niether is needed in my experience, 5000/20020V/V8 pumps all done by hand.  The later pump will
come out with moderate force and like a 1/19 rotation, the earlier are a bit more challenging as you
have to release 3 anchors first but stll very doable by hand.  Save the bad gas, using the in tank
pump for gas discharge is my favorite option.

You will either need the Fuel pump (FP) removal tool, or I heard a large adjustable pliers can remove the fuel plate on top of the tank. Stay Safe! Watch sparking. I machined the tool out of a PVC plumbing fitting.
