[V8] winter ponderings

The wheels are probably worth about $35 or so each to a recycler. The are
not good cosmetically, and need to be refinished, as do all of the others
that have lived any time in "the rust belt". It seems to be a limitation to
the finish quality used on these when they were new.
I don't want to buy some wheels from China, so refinishing these isn't all
that out of it....but then again, they could become part of a growing set. I
also have to older VW wheels...one allow and one steel...that came off an
ex-gf's car when it was totaled for her by a foolish woman in a SUV on the
cell phone, but that's a whole 'nother story.
My son's doing pretty well. The SAAB is long gone in favor of a company
Chevy SUV or some sort. Not a bad car that Chebbie, but when I rode with
him in it, I though that it rode about as well as my 1992 Ford 4X4 shorty,
and that made me wonder why anyone would spend REAL dollars for something
that was only different from a 1992 Ford 4X4 shorty in the number of
cupholders that it had. The other vehicle that they have is a Honda van,
and he told me that the replacement (and his wife is INSISTING on a
replacement), is nearly $35000.
I can't imagine spending $35,000 on anything that didn't pay cash dividends.
Roger

On the wife's ol 96 A6qa I put my ol fuchs from a Urq
Mit Winter tires on & they looked nice. Perfect Winter
rim..strong LW, plentifull...a great option.
Summer we had the Mid 90's A4 sport rims..16x7 I
think. There just sitting in my shead...with about 5
other sets of rims/tires.
Chris @ force5 prolly has something in deceant shape.
Or a google search would prolly give you a rim
refinisher close to you.
&....how's your Saab owning son doing Roger? he still
chugging away with that car?
