[V8] V8 transmission filter

I went through this about a month ago. All of the FLAPS wanted to sell
me the wrong filter for the wrong transmission. Some VW 3 speed with an
ameoba-shaped pan. I looked around and found a ZF4HP24 filter set--two
of them. One without pickup tube, one with 1" pickup tube. The
ZF4HP24A used the V8's has, apparently, a deeper pan than the HP24 used
in Jag's and MB's. I found one out of Chicago: $65 for the filter, $55
for shipping. I declined and my mechanic brazed the old tube onto the
new filter.
He strongly recommended a flush. He disconnected the cooler lines as
they pass under the engine rather than at the radiator due to my wishes
(long story).
Since we were doing a flush and complete fluid refill, my
wife-er..wallet-..er.. banker said that I couldn't do the Mobil 1 Syn,
so I went with Castrol Dex III.
Glad I did not attempt myself: 12 of the exhaust bolts had to be cut
off, all 4 donuts were toast, that would've set me back DAYS.
