I just did a quick check and found that I have an interesting
collection of batteries.
Autozone lists a group 48.
Of my collection:
93 V8 --- group 49 Napa
92 V8 --- group 41 FLAPS
91 V8 --- group 93 Interstate
90 V8 --- group 93 ??
91 Avant --- group 91 FLAPS
I always thought the 93 was the correct group for these, but 49 is
nearly as large so would not surprise me. The group 41 looks
miniscule and a bit too tall in there.
The Interstate group 93 in my 91 was in there when I bought it in 1999
and did not seem brand new then. It has only recently started to show
occasional signs of failure when I leave the car parked too long
between runs. I disconnect the neg post now to avoid that. It's
probably healthier for it I imagine.
I have a Vector charge which has a reconditioning feature that seems
to help keep these things alive. That combined with the Vector jump
box makes having all these beasts a lot easier.

All of these are the batteries in the car when I bought them except
for the 90 V8, which also had a 93 which died and was replaced by
another 93 out of a car at the local junkyard. The "new" one looked
brand new when I found it in the junkyard V8 and I think they hit me
for 15 bux with a 30 or 90 day warranty.
