Just did a repair on a 1.8T that had the classic "sludge" problem. It is a
known customer of ours, we were having phone problems on New Years Eve day,
so he took it to the dealer after the (STOP-low oil pressure) warning came
on in the center display. Well, long story short, the dealer checked it out
well enough to charge him $450. Sad part, when it got to our shop for the
actual repair, the bottom plastic cover had not even been off, much less the
oil pan. What the hell was $450 for, start and drive, warning comes on,
dealer tech says "yep, it's got a problem". Anyhow, I'll have to agree with
Steve 100% here. Dealers are pretty bad. I won't go there, I'll just keep
the older cars running.

There should be a quote around "dealer service", because it's a joke!
