Where can I get the three heater hoses on the back of the engine (to
valve, to core, and that really short one between pipe and block)?
WorldImpex has them at $56, 50, and 20.
When I first got the car, heater in and heater out on the pipe were
routed together with 3/4" heater hose. Further inspection revealed a
destroyed heater valve. Surely the previous owner thought he had a
leaking core because it really wasn't THAT bad to change the heater
valve. But, demonstrating his incredible mental abilities, he cut some
of the heater hoses so that one was about 2" too short. So I used the
3/4" hose for the pipe-to-valve. It was a total, absolute, complete
PITA to make 3/4" hose route into the S -shape into which the OE hose is
molded. I'd rather never, ever try it again.
I have a mild coolant leak from back of engine and, during the
heater-pipe o-ring/dizzy seal replacement, I remember the remaining OE
heater hose being VERY soft and pliable AND rubbing against the
tie-rod. Even if it's just a mis-seated hose (which I think it is) I
want to replace them all before one self destructs.
