[V8] autolock key batteries

Thanks for the part numbers. I googled around and found:
http://www.smallbattery.company.org.uk/index.htm
where I was finally able to determine that I do have the correct
batteries. Mine are Varta V301 that I bought at Wal-Mart. I now know
why they seemed so expensive, they are silver oxide batteries as
compared to the AG12/LR43 which are not and are less expensive.

So, that part's checked. I studied the remote for quite some time
until I was certain I have all the batteries in the correct
orientation.

Next will be to see how it works. Then I can also check the output
with a digital camera as another lister suggested.

The small bulb does not emit any illumination as in that which could
be used to see the keyhole. Should it? Is it only intended to emit
the invisible signal to the receive on the door post?

Thanks!
Ed
